Featuring all natural grass fed Highland beef.  Our beef cows are born and raised on the prairie and fields you see posted on this site.  We NEVER EVER sell any animal for beef that was treated with hormones or antibiotics anytime in its life.  We will treat an animal with antibiotics to save its life, but it is then removed from our beef program, perhaps sold as a pet, used for breeding or consumed on our table (we literally eat our misfortunes!).

About Highland Cattle

The official USA Highland Cattle site:

American Highland Cattle Association

Why Highlands?

When we first bought our farm, we entered into a partnership with a neighbor to allow Black Angus to browse our farm.  It was educational, and introduced us to cattle.  Alas, we were turned off of this breed a few years later due to their frequent dependance on human intervention for natural things like birthing.

We spent some time and explore several breeds before we came across Scottish Highlands.  We simply love "Scotties" calm disposition and ability to take care of themselves.  When we heard they used their horns to knock down cedar trees (a weed at our farm) - we were sold!  Got to love an animal that helps you take care of the farm instead of needing to be taken care of.

The next step towards raising grass-fed, grass-finished beef animals was an easy decission - our cows will have meat that is actually good for you to eat.  A bit of time with Google will provide you plenty of information on that, but here are a few links:
